Do I still own the movie I submit to Mayday?
Yes! You’re granting us a non-exclusive license to redistribute your movie however we see fit, but in no way does that challenge your absolute ownership of the movie! We’ve had movies in the past go on to do very successfully in other film festivals, self-distribution… whatever you want to do with it, you can.
Do you censor movies for content?
Let’s put it this way: we reserve the right to do so, but we’ve never once done it in years of running this thing. If you watch some of the movies from past contests, you’ll see that you can do pretty much whatever you want with your movie.
